I want to thank my July Bride Jennifer Cutchin-Blanchette for making my job stress free, while I made her day stress-free. Jennifer was well prepared for every meeting, she was very organized and decisive with her choices. She relaxed and allowed the professionals to do their job and I must say they all did a wonderful job! If you are getting married in the near future there are certain vendors you must take a look at, and they are The Founder's Inn & Spa (see Adrielle) Keith Cephus Photography, Simply Connie's florals and cakes, and of course Posh Style Events. Visit keith cephus blog for full photos and details of this event!

Un-Invited guests

Inviting guests to a wedding has tobe the most important and least discussed topic I have ever come across in all my years of an event planner. Bottom line is you are in control ofyour wedding! You are not obligated by no means to invite your 3rd grad best friend who still lives down the street from your parents and whom you have not had a relationship with (other than"hi' and "bye") since you left for college! You do not have to invite devery member of the church just because your father is the pastor, or you have been a member since birth. Inviting people to a wedding is a sensitive issue that can be handled very tactfully if thought out properly, and keep in mind there are other ways for extended friends and family to share in your happiness and celebrate with you. Let's start with who to invite, it goes without saying that you must invite immediate family (mom, dad, sis, bro, neice, nephew, grands and their respective eives/husbands) then you must allow your parents (whether they are paying for the wedding or not) at least 3 invitations for their close friends or whomever they want to share that day with as well, (it's the least you could do, they gave you life) . Now do you invite co-workers, I say "NO" you only have to invite co-workers if you are really good friends with them outside of work, and i mean really GOOD friends, they know your fiance and some family and you know their significant others....please do not invite the BOSS! you do not want your boss sitting among your family and friends discussing the time you called out sick, (and you really weren't) and calling you out in front of them to see if they are able to verify your story, and you most certainly do not want to witness your boss getting "tipsy" and doing the macarena with your uncle "BILL" or aunt "LINDA". Also among the non-invitees, you do not want to see anyone you have had prior carnal knowledge of at your wedding it does not matter how close you are now or how many years ago that was, or that your fiance says it's ok .....THEY ARE NOT WELCOME!!!!!
DO NOT ALLOW your bridesmaids, groomsmen or anyone else to take it upon themselves to go around blabbing around town that you are getting married and inviting people just because you may be having a buffet, this is not GOLDEN CORRAL people, get it together! I will blog part 2 of who to invite soon, my fingers are tired right now!

LAST MINUTE CHANGES

As Event planners we are mentally equiped to handle just about anything. A great planner has a backup plan for her back up! However as wonderfully efficient as we are, there always comes along that special bride that pushes you to your limit, your capacity for change is vast, but when a change occurs that is minor in the view of the client but major in all other aspects of planning a smooth, effortless event, it can really TICK YOU OFF! So, this is for all those beautiful wonderful brides out there who only have a couple weeks before your BIG DAY,.....you have given your final ok on all design, decor, florals, tastings, stationery and more. Everything is set!!!! All your vendors have their instructions and now it is time for the execution of this major event in your life and the lives of your family members, DO yourself and everyone involved in your wedding, LET THE PROS DO THEIR JOB!!!!!!! Trust that you have chosen the right people for to accomplish what you have put in place, Know that you have made GREAT decisions and stick with them. Do not stress yourself and others out by adding or deleting or changing the details of your wedding, although you may feel these are all small details, I promise you they have a ripple effect in the overall flow of your day that you would never expect!!!! If you feel you want to change something, go have the oil changed in your car, change a baby's diaper, go get change from the change machine, but whatever you do dont change any of your wedding plans!!!!!!

Bridezilla on a Discount!!!!!

Why is it Brides complain about the price of services, but when you give them a discount or a freebie they act as if it was owed to them, and then they nit-pick the freebie/discount. I mean come on people, if you want the right to complain and be all picky icky and bitchy about a free service then maybe you should just PAY FULL PRICE!!!!! Paying full price entitles you to certain benefits of service, and the first benefit is the ability to be a BRIDEZILLA!!!!! If you have the nerve or the audacity to ask for free or discounted services then you should be humble and accepting enough to not complain or be unnecessarily picky. As you can see this is a sore spot for me today, did not mean to offend anyone.
